Furniture: Daybeds
June 19, 2008 – 1:54 pmDaybeds are great to have around your house for when an unexpected visitor shows up for the night. Most people have spent a night or two sleeping on a couch, and typically its not that great of an experience. I know I always appreciate it when I stay at someone elses place and have an actual bed to sleep in, and not just a couch or an air mattress.
Daybeds are a nice way to fill up a room and have it look nice as well. When theyre not being used as a bed, you can use the daybed as a couch. This is great for a guest bedroom or something of the sort. If you put a small television in the room, your guest can use the bed as a couch during the day and still have a comfortable sleep at night.
Comfortable Daybeds
With a special add-on, you can even make your daybeds twice as big as they normally are. There are special contraptions that will fold up and store underneath the daybed while not in use. When you want to use it, you simply unfold it, and it creates a surface to place another mattress on, turning your daybed into a king size bed for when extra company comes over.
Daybeds certainly arent cheap, but with some research and a bit of shopping around, you should be able to find one that suits your budget and your tastes without too much trouble. A daybed will really bring a room together nicely, and is a great alternative to an expensive regular bed. Its also much better than simply having a spare couch too, I guarantee that.
